Giving Back

Announcing the Women of the Channel Leadership Summit West’s 2019 Channel@Work Charity Project ─ Shelter From The Storm

Channel@Work is the charitable arm of The Channel Company, producer of the Women of the Channel Leadership Summits.  The Channel@Work projects in which the events’ team and conference attendees participate are designed to bring the IT community together and give back to the local communities where our events take place.

Shelter From The Storm is the Coachella Valley’s only comprehensive domestic victim assistance service and shelter provider organization.  Its purpose is to provide support, prevent violence, and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities.  Since its inception in 1993, the shelter has seen tremendous growth, providing safety, counseling, case management, and legal and social service advocacy for more than 1,200 women and children each year.  On an annual basis, it provides more than 1,000 nights of emergency shelter and serves more than 2,000 meals to its residents.

Over the course of the Women of the Channel Leadership Summit West, we will be collecting the following “Wish List” items from our Summit attendees to be donated to Shelter From The Storm. All onsite donations can be dropped off at the Registration Desk throughout the event.

  • Tissues/Kleenex
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Plates
  • Paper Bowls
  • Plastic Forks & Spoons
  • Napkins
  • Journals
  • Socks – Kids (boys/girls) and Women
  • Gift Cards: Target, Walmart, Visa/Mastercard/AMEX

In addition, all proceeds from the Summit’s Raffle for a Cause, featuring fabulous prizes donated by the Summit's sponsors, will benefit Shelter From The Storm. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.
